MinuteSteak Legacy (PTY) LTD
MinuteSteak Marketing (originally Minute Steak PTY LTD) was founded by retired newspaper editor and digital marketing head of content, JC van der Walt in 2016.
Van der Walt identified a gap in the market for a serious digital marketing agency catering specifically for the SMEs during his time of employment at a larger, traditional digital marketing agency. There seemed to be an unhealthy trend in the industry. Companies of all sizes paid inflated rates to an agency that generally gave preference to affordable labour, rather than skilled professionals. Furthermore, expensive marketing packages were stuffed with services that weren’t relevant to all clients.
He wrote a business model that would aim to employ only expertly skilled professionals in all sectors of the digital marketing sphere. In addition to that, marketing packages were structured in such a way that companies of all sizes operating within any industry would get the most return from their marketing expense and, if the base package wasn’t enough, they could easily scale their marketing return by adding additional add-on services, without breaking the bank. With this structure in place, the company was launched with introductory monthly Facebook Marketing packages selling at under a R1000pm, with no set-term contracts forcing clients into staying with MinuteSteak Marketing. Google Adwords (now Google Ads) was soon to follow and became the main driving force behind the company’s success.
Today, although the rates have been adjusted to allow for more practical profit margins, MinuteSteak Marketing boasts an impressive portfolio of clients of all sizes around the country and across multiple industries.

MinuteSteak Marketing has had its fair share of hurdles, but emerged stronger than ever after each blow. In January 2018, it became a family business when JC appointed his father, Chris van der Walt as the second director. He brought with him a wealth of business and customer service experience which helped the company rise to new heights.
With remodeled packages that packed more punch and a stern focus on customer service, MinuteSteak was able to sign larger companies to its portfolio of clients while remaining an affordable option to the SME market — an audience they have vowed to remain loyal to.
In August of 2018, Chris van der Walt passed away, inspiring the decision to rebrand the company and register MinuteSteak Legacy. Like his son, Chris was passionate about clients and their needs. In honouring this, we aim to maintain honest relationships with all our clients while delivering the best results at the lowest possible rates.
